Friday, April 17th: Fabulous Fridays Homeschool Book Club at 2 p.m.
Early Reader Roundup, for children in Grades K-2, will be reading and discussing
Minnie and Moo Go Dancing by Denys Cazet.
Reading Rocks! Book Club, for children in Grades 3-6, will be reading and discussing
My Side of the Mountain, by Jean Craighead George.
Children's Services, Main Library. Talk about the book, activities, food and fun.

Tuesday, April 21st: Barnes & Noble Homeschoolers Day  from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
We will have four events going on simultaneously throughout the store just for
Homeschoolers, including a special storytime and crafts for younger children, a
scavenger hunt for middle school-aged children and games for high school-aged
students. These events will have an environmental theme to tie in with Earth Day on April
22nd. At the same time, we will have a book talk for parents in the Café. April 18th – 26th
is Spring Educator Appreciation Week at Barnes & Noble! Pre-K to 12 Educators, save
25% on Books, Gifts and Café items, and 10% on CDs and DVDs for the classroom AND

Thursday, April 23rd: Moms Night In
at Nikki Hensel's home. Join us for food,
fun and fellowship  beginning at 6:30 p.m. Bring a side dish or dessert to share. Please

Monday, April 27th: Home School Days at Crazy Pinz
+ Pizza Party Finale
will be held from 1-3 p.m. This is our final bowling event of this school year and we will
have a pizza party! The cost is$7 per person to bowl from 1-3 pm, have pizza and sodas
during this special day. Those who wish just to bowl with no pizza may still pay $3 per
person. All ages are welcome. If you plan to attend for pizza please

Salomon Farm Fiber Arts Celebration!

May 15, 2009 FWAHS Resource Preview
This evening is designed to help homeschool parents make the most of the Resource
Expo. Gather information about curricula from experienced teacher/parents and attend
workshops. Those who attend the Preview will receive a free pass for Saturday’s Expo.

May 16, 2009 FWAHS Resource Expo: Memorial Coliseum, Ft. Wayne
The Exhibit Hall features booths filled with curricular and extra-curricular materials.
Featured speakers and vendors will offer homeschooling workshops throughout the day,
including one orientation meeting for new or prospective homeschoolers.

Friday, May 29th: TinCaps Reading Program Game Day 7:05 p.m.
TEAM Southwest Readers will celebrate rounding their reading bases with a trip to the
TinCaps Parkview baseball stadium in downtown Ft. Wayne. Participants will receive a
game day ticket voucher, free hot dog and soft drink coupons for each student. If your
family would like to participate please email the # of pre-k to 6th grade home school
readers & your mailing address to admin@teamhomeschool.net. Info will be sent to
begin your reading goals with the TinCaps!

Homeschool Week at Indiana Beach, June 1 - 5
Home school families can visit Indiana Beach to receive special discounts and exclusive
events!  Take part in a Recycling Regatta, tour the Skyroom kitchen, or even build a Roller

Friday, June 5th Missions Event: Once again TEAM SW will be sprucing up the grounds
at the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission in their annual Spring clean up & flower planting day.
This year we ask that you donate some flowers or money (suggested $5 or so) that will
be used to purchase large planters, flowers, potting soil, mulch and materials. A team of
volunteers from our group will meet to clean the grounds and arrange these planters at
the Rescue Mission. If you want to donate or join the TEAM clean up volunteers, please

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009: FWAHS Used Curriculum Sale, 9-noon
Bring your used books and curriculum, a card table, and your own change to do
transactions; then turn your discards into someone else’s treasures. Please limit your
sales to curriculum, books, videos, etc.– no food or drink sales will be permitted. Those
looking for good buys come and shop among friends.
The doors open for sellers at 8:40 a.m. to
set up their tables, but please do not make sales or purchases until 9 a.m. when the
doors open for buyers. No registration necessary.

PSAT Registration information:
You or your student should contact a local
public or independent high school. Call the
school's main number and ask to be directed to
whoever handles the PSAT/NMSQT
arrangements. Be sure to do so well in advance
of the mid-October test dates. If the school
seems resistant, you should ask another
school in the area.
