Together, Educating And Mentoring is a group of home schooling families whose purpose

Mom's Night Out and Fellowship, and a children's playgroup.

Monthly Planner 2008

Friday, May 23rd at 10:00 a.m., Rescue Mission Planting Day. TEAM will be planting
flowers and sprucing up the grounds at The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. Please wear
clothes you'll be ready to work in and bring shovels, work gloves, rakes or other items to
help us clean-up. Also please bring some flowers and/or mulch to donate to our planting

Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 11:00am-4:00pm
Come join General Washington’s army as they camp at Fort Wayne.  They will be
completing drills with their muskets as well as the cannons.  Join the men as they
complete their tasks and guard duty.  Talk with the women as they complete daily work
tasks around the fort.  Spend time playing games with your children. Saturday, June 7th
from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 8th from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Admission of a free will donation is appreciated.
The Old Fort is located right over the bridge as you are going north on Spy Run Ave. You
will want to go to Fourth Street and park at Lawton Park and enjoy the short stroll down
the River Greenway until you reach the Fort.

Tuesday, June 10: FWAHS Used Curriculum Sale
Taylor University, Gerig Activities Center, 1025 West Rudisell Boulevard
9 a.m.-12 Noon       COST: Free
Bring your used books and curriculum, a card table, and your own change to do
transactions; then turn your discards into someone else’s
treasures. Please limit your sales to curriculum, books, videos.
NO food or drink sales will be permitted. Those looking for good buys
come and shop among friends. The doors open for sellers at 8:40 a.m. to
set up their tables, but please do not make sales or purchases until 9
a.m. when the doors open for buyers. No registration needed.

Wednesday, June 11th: Begin the summer Pool Party!
Renee Hicks invites you to begin the summer at her home with a pool party. Please bring
a snack, drink, towels, and sunscreen. Arrive at 2:30 p.m. and call for directions. Please

Saturday, June 21, 2:00-4:00 p.m.,  Horse Power!   
Salomon Farm Park, 817 W. Dupont Rd.
Meet some of the powerful farm horses of the past and present.  Percherons, Belgians,
Fijords, Spots and Mules will be visiting Salomon Farm on June 21.  Members of the
DeKalb County Horsemen’s Association will talk about the purpose and history of these
animals, as well as harnessing and driving methods used. Weather permitting, these
beautiful animals will take you on a wagon ride around the farm. The program is
FREE, so
bring the family and enjoy a day at the farm!

the insects of Indiana to you. Learn about the bugs in the world around you. Groups

Friday, July 25, 2:00 p.m.: Fabulous Fridays Book Party: James and the Giant Peach
Come to our book party and get acquainted with this classic story by Roald Dahl. We'll
have crafts, snacks, and other activities to celebrate the story James and the Giant Peach
Allen County Main Public Library.

Friday, August 22nd: Field Trip to Salamonie Reservoir’s Lost Bridge Learning Center
and a Nature Hike.  We will take a 1/2 hour hike led by a naturalist and then participate in
a 1/2 hour lesson at the Salamonie Interperative Services Center.  Our trip will begin
promptly at 1:00 p.m. so, please arrive at 12:45 p.m.  Our trip will last about 1 hour.
Afterwards students are invited to explore nature exhibits at the center. Cost is $1 per
student, adults are free. Location is Lost Bridge West State Recreation Area (About 8
miles South of US 24 on SR 105 ), phone (260) 468-2127. Attendees will receive a map
prior to visit. This trip is limited to 30 students. Register for this trip by calling Heather
Rosbrugh at 260-436-3022 or email admin@teamhomeschool.net.

PSAT Registration information:
You or your student should contact a local
public or independent high school. Call the
school's main number and ask to be directed to
whoever handles the PSAT/NMSQT
arrangements. Be sure to do so well in advance
of the mid-October test dates. If the school
seems resistant, you should ask another
school in the area.

These following area schools are participating
in administering the PSAT:
*Blackhawk Christian HS, Phone
260-493-7400. Blackhawk will begin taking
home school applicants on August 1, 2008
for PSAT testing.
