In addition to the support network that T.E.A.M. provides, Homeschoolers are
able to find many support networks throughout their communities and the
internet. Below we have listed a few links and organizations that are available
to Fort Wayne area homeschoolers as a source of support.
T.E.A.M. does not endorse any particular home school program, group or link and asks that
you research each organization that interests you.

FWAHS (Fort Wayne Area Home School) FWAHS provides a  quarterly newsletter
published in August, November, February and May. The newsletter usually contains one
or two articles concerning home education, an opportunities section, a calendar of
events, a student forum, legislative news and classified ads. FWAHS is a group of
greater Fort Wayne area Christian homeschoolers.

Northeastern Indiana Catholic Home Educators  (NICHE) We provide spiritual, service,
social, field trip, and other activity opportunities. Our main gathering is a Mass with
activities following. Attendance at events is open to all, regardless of religious
affiliation, homeschooling or nonhomeschooling.

HEART (Home Educators Applying Righteous Truth) email:

HEART provides information and support to homeschooling families. A variety of events
are offered to meet those goals as well as to encourage Christian fellowship. Their
activities include monthly meetings, field trips, Mom's and Couple's Night Out, a spring
play, lending library, children's parties, swim days, park days, junior and senior high
activities and a web site.

CHAT - (Christian Homeschool Association of/for Teens)
An area wide, member run group which offers many different activities for area
homeschool teenagers. Whether you would like social activities, ballroom dance
classes, courtship discussions, game nights, or free Civic Theater tickets they have a lot

TORCH (Traditions of Roman Catholic Homes) A support group for Roman Catholic
homeschoolers. Their main gathering is a Mass with activities following on the first
Friday of every month at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, Fort
Wayne. Attendance at activities is open to all persons, single or married, regardless of
religious affiliation, whether homeschooling or not.

Serving: N. Indiana & SW Michigan. The Homeschool HUB (Homeschoolers United, Inc.)
is a group of homeschoolers in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana who have
started a new kind of homeschool group. We are a non-profit corporation; our plan is to
be an information clearinghouse for local homeschool groups and individual
homeschoolers, and to provide a place for meetings and enrichment opportunities. We
want to bring the local homeschool community closer, sharing activities and resources.

AAHN - (African American Homeschoolers Network) -Established for families seeking
educational resources. We provide information on the following: educational materials,
assistance in finding home school support groups, cultural activities. We offer a
quarterly newsletter, annual directory, conferences and workshops, networking events,
youth activities, and vendor discounts.

Geocities Special Needs homeschooler: Homeschoolers with special needs and gifted
learning information. Provides message boards, web links, curriculum suggestion and
more for special needs children.

HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Fund) - A nonprofit advocacy organization
established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the
education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Through annual memberships,
HSLDA is tens of thousands of families united in service together, providing a strong
voice when and where needed.

IAHE (Indiana Association of Home Educators) Our primary functions are maintaining
visibility as home educators with civil government leaders, influencing the legislative
process, and sponsoring seminars for parent education. We also publish a free bimonthly
magazine, The IAHE Informer. Our statewide annual convention serves to encourage
those who have been home schooling for a number of years and those who are just
getting started.  

IFHS (Indiana Foundation for Home Schooling) Indiana Foundation for Home Schooling
serves homeschoolers in Indiana by providing opportunities and resources that inspire
learning and enable students to achieve their potential. The IFHS website has great
resources for new and veteran home educators, and offers an on-line link for the
purchase of curriculum which can be reviewed by grade, subject, and company. The
IFHS encourages and promotes the formation of local National Honor Society home
school chapters and sponsors an annual statewide Graduation ceremony in June and
scholarships.  

The Indiana Home Educators' Network www.ihen.org  is dedicated  to
assisting Indiana home educators by providing access to personal contact

information and resources related to all aspects of home education. IHEN
facilitates open communication among home educators, support networks and
resource providers throughout Indiana. IHEN: Helping Hoosiers Homeschool since the
turn of the century. IHEN also publishes the largest online directory of homeschooling
resources and support groups, by county.

NATHHAN - (NATional cHallenged Homeschoolers Associated Network) - Equipping
parents to raise their children with special needs or disabilities confidently.  
NHERI (National Home Education Research Institute) - The mission of NHERI is threefold:
1. Produce high-quality research on home-based education. 2. Serve as a clearinghouse
of research for homeschoolers, researchers, and policy makers. 3. Educate the public
concerning the findings of all research on home education.

NHEN - (National Home Education Network) - Exists to encourage and facilitate the vital
grassroots work of state and local homeschooling organizations and individuals by
providing information, fostering networking and promoting public relations on a national
level.
